Web Sites for Parents

Following are some web sites I've found on the web that you might find helpful in working with and understanding your second grade child.  Other sites give information on grade-level reading materials, activities, games, and printable worksheets for your 2nd grader.  I hope you will find these helpful !!

http://www.teachervision.fen.com/child-development/parenting/2852.html The title of this site is How Parents Can Help Their Second Graders.

http://www.pbs.org/launchingreaders/parenttips_4.html This site contains tips for parents of 2nd graders on the Launching Young Readers site.

http://www.linkslearning.org/Parents/_index.html This site includes a little quiz you can take (if you'd like) on your parenting skills.

http://www.meddybemps.com/index.html This is a really nice site, with info for you as well as activities and read-alongs for your child.

http://www.eduplace.com/kids/  Some of this is for older children.  You may have to help your child find areas that are suitable to second grade.  This is the official site for our Houton Mifflin Reading Program, so their are many useful and pertinent activities.
